Playgrounds and Outdoor Learning

At Mashrek International School, our playgrounds are thoughtfully designed as extensions of the learning environment, supporting physical development, wellbeing, creativity, and social connection. Through dedicated, age-appropriate outdoor spaces, students across all divisions enjoy safe, engaging environments that encourage movement, teamwork, and joyful exploration.

Mashrek features five outdoor playground areas, each carefully tailored to meet the developmental needs of different age groups:

  • Kindergarten Playground A purpose-built outdoor learning space where learning flows seamlessly between indoors and outdoors, in line with our IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy. Designed to nurture wellbeing, independence, and curiosity, the KG playground offers rich opportunities for physical activity, freedom of movement, and imaginative play. Children develop fine motor skills through water and sand play, express creativity through drawing and painting, and build environmental awareness through hands-on experiences in the greenhouse. The playground includes a sand area, climbing wall, painting wall, chalk wall, traffic park, greenhouse, and open spaces for free movement and exploration.

  • Primary School Main Playground Featuring a football court, sand area, and climbing wall, this space promotes coordination, strength, teamwork, and active play.

  • Primary School Playground (Grades 1–2) A customized playground designed specifically for younger primary students, offering a safe and stimulating environment that supports social interaction and age-appropriate physical activity.

  • Middle and Senior School Main Playground A versatile, multipurpose outdoor space shared by Middle and Senior School students, thoughtfully scheduled to accommodate a wide range of activities and age-group needs.

  • Middle and Senior School Amphitheater A dynamic outdoor area combining an open-air theatre with artificial turf and goal posts, used for sports, performances, assemblies, and collaborative activities throughout the school day.

Together, these spacious and innovatively designed outdoor environments reflect Mashrek’s commitment to wellbeing, active learning, and balanced development.
